Limited Social Interaction

Story of the ‘Select Mute’ child: the parent and teacher of a nursery school child were unable to find a way to overcome the little boy’s choice of not speaking to his peers. He only spoke to the teacher when he felt he needed to, and at home he could express himself freely.

The school psychologist was unable to make a dent into this mysterious barrier. When the Sebezaphone came into the classroom, he took one and started talking into it, whispering to himself as he paged through a picture book. Within a short time he started to speak to his peers, to the surprise and joy of his mother and teacher. This child is now more willing to communicate and play with the others.
