Speaking softly into their Sebezaphone each learner’s voice is amplified so that they alone can clearly hear themselves read. This teaching tool enables learners to better differentiate phonemes, hear the author’s words spoken, enhance fluency, improve comprehension and have more fun while reading.
The Sebezaphone is a handheld ‘phone’ that amplifies the softly spoken voice so that every learner is both the reader and listener at the same time. The tube design of the Sebezaphone funnels sound directly to the ear and blocks out distracting background noise. It provides auditory bio-feedback so that:
- readers hear themselves read and become more fluent
- learners can better differentiate phonemic sounds and link them to the letters of the alphabet
- the author’s words become more clearly audible and are better understood
The Sebezaphone removes distracting background noise. It creates a private space for learners to read at their own pace, overcome their resistance to read aloud, and speak their thoughts as they interactwith the text while reading.
